The brief:
Simply to create the best local government Website in the UK.
The work:
A completely accessible website, featuring online payment tools and clear, multilingual content - all to e-GIF standards. The key has been creating a stable, flexible IT architecture on which everything else can rest for a long time to come.
The results:
Spectacular. From being one of the poorest in the UK, Lambeth's site was voted 'fastest improving Local Authority website in the UK' last year, earning a coveted SocITM top 20 ranking. The site was also named as the best council website in England by the Society of Public Information Networks at its annual conference on 19 May 2006.
